Sprawling green spaces are part of the beauty of Dumbarton

Levengrove Park

The most popular and arguably scenic green space in Dumbarton.

Located where the River Leven meets the River Clyde, this park offers great views of the river, a beautiful landscape and great local amenities like the popular cafe.

Read more about Levengrove Park and its history on West Dunbartonshire Council's website.

Dumbarton Castle grounds

Whilst the castle itself is the main attraction of this popular spot, the green space at the base of the rock can be a great place to relax and walk around.

You can also explore the castle grounds as well as the green space near to the castle too.

Posties Park

Sitting next to Levengrove Park, Posties Park is of a different character.

The park has sport facilities within the green space.

Cunningham Graham Memorial Park

This park is a small outlet of green space within west Dumbarton.

Previously home to a memorial monument to Cunninghame Graham, this monument was replaced in the 1980s and now an inscribed rock takes its place: 'the Mony'.

Havoc Meadow

Havoc Meadow is a green space alongside the River Clyde in the west of the town.

Classed as a biodiversity area, there is a large range of species enjoying the area and so it is a great place to spend some time.

Dumbarton Common

Dumbarton Common is a large green space just north of Dumbarton Central train station.

The Common has an outdoor gym for public use.

The space is comprised of a number of football pitches for use, a children's playground area and the Meadow Centre leisure facility operated by West Dunbartonshire Leisure.

East End Park

Aptly named for its location in Dumbarton's east end, this green space is placed just by Dumbarton East train station.

Along with the green space, there is a children's playground area and a bookable synthetic football pitch.

Town allotments

There are two allotment sites in Dumbarton: Castlegreen Street and Round Riding Road.

There's more information about allotments on the West Dunbartonshire Council website.
